The Training Department at Halton YMCA offers a wide range of education and training opportunities to people from the Halton borough. These include:

Post 16 Foundation Learning Programme
This programme supports learners aged 16 to 18 or 19 to 25 years with learning difficulties/disabilities.
It offers a range of targeted vocational opportunities, functional skills and personal development. All of which can result in accredited qualifications.
Pre 16 Foundation Learning Programme
Working with young people aged 14-16 this programme offers a mix of vocational taster sessions, employability skills and functional skills.
Halton YMCA work in close association with a number of Halton based secondary schools and Key Stage 4 Engagement team in the delivery of this programme.
Short Courses
Halton YMCA offer a range of informal and accredited short courses to the general public. These include:
- Anger Management,
- Team Building,
- Communication skills
- Choices & Consequences
Accredited Parenting Courses
At Halton YMCA we offer confidential learning & support in Parenting Skills. The course covers the following key areas:
- Child development
- Parent awareness
- Healthy Eating for Children and Young People
- Cooking Sessions
- Communication Skills
- Preparing for Progression
Courses can be delivered on an outreach basis if required. All qualifications are City and Guilds accredited.
