Housing Support

Halton YMCA has developed a strong reputation for delivering high quality and accessible support that assists the individual to both make informed choices about accommodation, to access levels of support they require, to plan routes to independence, to explore career prospects and appropriate training and to work to develop their longer term housing and employment opportunities; i.e., Move from dependence to independence in their own property and support to seek training, education and employment opportunities.

Our Commitment

Halton YMCA is committed to providing high quality services and has, over the last 30 years, made a significant investment in all areas of its business and operations to ensure these services provide positive outcomes for residents and service users. In delivering support our team at both operational and strategic levels bring with them a wealth of 'hands on' experience and expertise which we believe puts us in a prime position to continue to run and manage this service at Halton Lodge on behalf of Halton Borough Council.

Additionally we have worked with numerous local, regional and national organisations and agencies to establish excellent operational links and develop good practice which supports the delivery of the housing support service.

We Promise

In the course of delivering its housing support service we:

  • Maintain a high quality (quality assured) service whilst delivering value for money
  • Provide an accessible service that includes the use of our main hostel service and Move On and resettlement outreach work
  • Form close integrated working with all current Halton YMCA services i.e. ensuring close operational links with Y's Up Advice and Guidance Centre and Night Stop staff teams, whilst also maintaining and developing strong working relationships with other partner organisations. This offers a more robust service to the residents and service users.
  • Provide a team of dedicated and skilled Management & Key Worker support staff.
  • Ensure a personalised programme of support for residents– ensuring that the provision of accommodation meets the individual needs of each user
  • Support individuals to move from dependence to independent living, by making the appropriate changes to their lifestyles.
